Damson Farm is a 2 acre regenerative smallholding and edible garden just outside Bath, on the southern edge of the Cotswold Hills in a valley which was once full of market gardens and orchards. We have a small flock of sheep, an orchard, ponds and meadow as well as areas closer to the house where I experiment with richly layered planting combinations. Increasingly it’s the edible garden that’s holding my attention. I completed a permaculture design course in 2020 and I’m interested in exploring how to apply these principles, based on deep observation of natural ecosystems, to create gardens which function ecologically, provide food and look beautiful too.
In the years we’ve been tending this little piece of land we’ve seen it evolve into a place which provides nourishment on many levels for our family, friends and visitors as well as the wild creatures and plant life that choose to share it with us. Do check out the workshop programme if you’d be interested to spend some time here digging in a little deeper into why caring for the land around us really matters. You’ll find a warm welcome, delicious home cooked food and ideas and inspiration to take home.
